28th Drummond Island

28th Drummond Island Jeep Jamboree USA - 2021

Day 1 - We (My Wife Heather and I) drove as far north as possible without being in Canada, boarded a ferry with numerous other excited Jeepers and headed to sign in at the event and get tech inspections/trail groups taken care of. We were met with the most enthusiastic group of event hosts that I have ever experienced. They were having fun, and that carried over into the process, making it as easy as possible to check in all those Jeeps and personalities. Once everyone was all checked in, we headed back to the hotel and anxiously awaited the following morning.

Day 2 – Landing on the island, the ferry gates couldn’t drop quickly enough for us to get the day started. We were provided breakfast and a box lunch at the drivers meeting. We all headed for the trails shortly after, with our group adventuring through the numerous ORV trails, that lead through huge marsh areas, rock, dirt, sand, beach, and even marble head, the highest point (about 90 feet of cliff face)  on the island. The terrain was constantly changing, and pushing out onto the shoreline, just for the forest to swallow you back up around the next turn. Our group was about 17 Jeeps, including the guides. We even witnessed a bald eagle flying over, surely giving his approval to our Jeeps, when we were at Marble Head. Day 2 closed with a great diner and stories shared of the days adventures.

Day 3 – Today was the best day of wheeling in my opinion. We headed to Turtle Ridge Off Road Park, where the terrain was just as varying as the previous day, but the obstacles provided numerous lines to make it as hard as you would like. The soft dirt gives way under your tires and the rocks move constantly, making this a pretty challenging day. There was some carnage as well for a JLU and a JKU, one grenading a rear diff, and the other grenading an front axle. He did such  a good job, that the impact of the axle u joint exploding, blew both upper and lower ball joints on the passenger side completely out of the C in the housing. After “trail fixing” our wounds, we were able to limp out and make it back to camp, where everyone enjoyed the dinner, raffle, and event recap. Heather and I headed for home, having made some new friends, some great memories, and looking forward to next year’s event.

The natural beauty of the UP in Michigan is definitely something that everyone should see. - Chris

20th Silver Valley 2021

20th Silver Valley Jeep Jamboree USA - 2021

Stella and I spent last weekend at the 20th Silver Valley Jeep Jamboree in Wallace, ID. This was our first Jeep Jamboree USA event, and we had a blast! Northridge4x4 is a sponsor this year for JJUSA so this was the first of three events Stella, and I will be attending this year.

Day one started out with a great breakfast served by volunteers at the Morning Club in Mullan, ID. After breakfast we got our lunches and started lining up for our trail rides. We ran the Old Mullan Pass trail which was a very easy trail with some breathtaking views. There were really no challenges on this trail but the scenery more than made up for that. At lunch we stopped in a massive huckleberry patch so we could all pick wild huckleberries. Stella and I filled up a water bottle in a short amount of time. The trail ended at an abandoned mine where we were able to get the group of 37 Jeep’s together for a group shot. We ended the day with a great dinner at Shoshone Park while we enjoyed listening to a local live band.

Day two started with another awesome breakfast serve at Shoshone Park and a drivers meeting. We opted to run the hardest trail offered for day two. We ran Crouse Culch (aka The Compressor Trail) which is a rock-strewn creek bed with a couple of good waterfall climbs. This is another very scenic trail that ended at an abandoned mine. There were signs of the mining history of this area everywhere you looked. The day ended with dinner and drinks at Shoshone Park.

It was great seeing some old friends and making a lot of new friends. The wheeling is fun, but the best part of these events is the opportunity to meet new people. Stella and I made some new lifelong friends on this trip!

The athletic teams of Mullan put on a car wash on Friday and Saturday in which they raised $3,000 dollars for their athletic program and another $5,000 for their scholarship program. The mayor of Mullan, who is an avid Jeeper, was in tears at dinner Saturday night when he announced how much money had been raised. Mullan is a very small town and as the mayor said, “This is life changing money for these kids!”. I couldn’t be prouder of our Jeep community!

See ya on the trail! - Eric

24th Rubicon Trail 2021

24th Rubicon Trail Jeep Jamboree USA - 2021

The event started with on Thursday with registration which was held at the Jeep Jamboree USA headquarters in Georgetown, CA. Us along with several other sponsors and the JJUSA staff greeted each participant as they came through the line. This is where the itinerary for the following day was explained, group assignments were made, and the sponsors handed out their swag. We were split into three groups red was the fastest and most experienced group blue was the middle group that may run a little slower and may need more spotting and white was the slowest moving group with the least modified Jeeps and may need the most spotting. All groups run the same trail it’s just how fast you run and how modified your jeep is that determined the group you would be assigned to. It was a smooth process that gave us a chance to meet every participant.

The following morning, we drove back into Georgetown at 6am to get our breakfast and lunch for the day. Breakfast was a carnitas breakfast burrito, OJ, yogurt and fruit. It was great!  For lunch we had turkey sandwiches, fruit, chicken strips, chips, and a brownie. JJUSA makes sure you aren’t hungry on their trips! That’s one of the best things about this event. All you have to pack for food is trail snacks and drinks, JJUSA handles breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Once we had our food, we began our one-hour drive from Georgetown to Loon Lake which is where the trailhead is located. The drive up to Loon Lake during sunrise is breathtaking! Once we arrived at Loon Lake we aired down and had a driver meeting to go over the rules, expectations, and a brief explanation of what to expect on the trail. We loaded up and were on the trail by 8:30am. The Rubicon Trail challenges you from the minute you enter, and the challenges just keep coming. This isn’t a trail you just drive; you are wheeling the entire time!

Thanks to the JJUSA spotters we made it through even the toughest obstacle unscathed and arrived at Rubicon Springs by 6pm. JJUSA staff greeted us at the entrance of the campground with a cold beverage and directed us to our camp spot. We quickly set up out camp and headed down for dinner. For dinner we had ribs with all the fixins. It really hit the spot after a long day on the trail. We spent the evening talking with fellow Jeepers and reminiscing about our first day on the trail.

Saturday was a camp day. We were up by 7am and they had a full breakfast and coffee bar ready for us. Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and muffins were served to get us fueled up for a long day of relaxing in the springs. We aired up a couple floaties and headed down to the springs for the day. This is a family friendly event, and it was great to see people of all ages laughing, talking trail, and hanging out enjoying the beauty of Rubicon Springs.

Dinner was served around 6:30 and did not disappoint. We were served tri-tip, corn on the cob, potatoes, and salad. Dinner was followed by a bonfire, libations, and a great guitar man playing around the fire. We spent the evening telling stories, laughing, and making new friends. This is one on my favorite parts of a trip like this. You are given an opportunity to meet people you likely would not meet otherwise. New friends are made each time we attend an event like this.

We were up and running by 6am on Sunday morning so we could break down camp, eat a quick breakfast and hit the trail. The final day on the trail was bittersweet. On one hand it was nice to be back in the Jeep hitting Cadillac Hill and on the other hand we knew we with every obstacle we passed we were approaching the end of this amazing trip. By 11:30am we were off the trail and airing up tires. We spent a few minutes saying our goodbyes and hit the road for our drive back to Washington.

Thank you to all the JJUSA staff and volunteers for going above and beyond to make this trip such an incredible experience! We will be back. - Eric

31st Maine Mountains

31st Maine Mountains Jeep Jamboree USA - 2021

This last weekend we made our way up to the 31st Maine Mountains Jeep Jamboree. We traveled from Kentucky up to Maine and had never seen much of the country that we traveled through.  The leaves had started to turn, but hadn’t reached their peak yet. On Friday, we ran Moose Run, which was very tight in spots, winding through the trees, across creeks, through mud, over rocks, and a lot of climbs and descents. It was a very good mix of just about every obstacle you can find in the area. There were no major breaks, just one front end issue.

This was definitely a crowd favorite, with 22 rigs on it the first day. Friday on the trail was great, with all of us leaving a little muddy. The local fire department hosted a “Jeep Wash”, to prepare the Jeeps for the parade through town the following morning.

This event went a little differently due to weather, so the raffle was held Saturday morning at the line up lot. Once the raffle was over, all 140 Jeeps followed an old fire truck through the small town. The entire community was very supportive of the event and were very pleasant to deal with the entire time. There were about 350 or so people, which doesn’t sound like a lot, until you take into account that the population of Bethel is only about 2,500.

We were able to talk to almost everyone the first night at the registration, while giving out swag bags. We were in the perfect location, and all had to go past us to sign up for their trails. We got to see several people (and new customers) that we met at the Drummond Island event earlier in the year.

The event was very well organized overall and seemed to run flawlessly. They have had 31 years to perfect it, and I think they have done so. The trail leaders and participants were excited to see us there, and several said “I never expected to see you guys so far North”.

The best moment for me personally was when they recognized the gentleman, I didn’t get his name, but he was attending his 51st JJUSA event. He was a hoot to talk with and listen to his experiences.

Thanks for some great memories Maine! We hope to see you next year!- Chris

Gateway To The Cumberlands

Gateway to the Cumberlands - 2021

This event was held in Williamsburg, KY, and has the support of the entire town. It’s truly a grassroots feel, where the Mayor, town Judge, and Head of Tourism all attend each day to see all the participants off. The Police escort out of the meeting spot is an over-the-top touch.

This event is the largest in the country and had a little over 300 Jeeps in attendance. We were able to talk to every single Jeep during the check-in process and hand out Northridge4x4 swag. Friday morning led us to the trail named “Alcatraz”, which is on the town Judge’s property. It is a winding trail that plays out in a creek bed. There are several large obstacles along the way, including a waterfall climb. Our group was 21 Jeeps deep on this level 7-8 rated trail. We made it through the day with only a couple, minor trail reminders. Once we arrived back at the departure point, we were able to enjoy dinner and share stories and pictures from the day. Unfortunately, the rain cut this short.

Saturday morning left us with rain still falling and trails muddy, so we opted for an easy trail. Several on-the-fly changes were made to keep the amount of damage to the trails at a minimum. The attendance fell sharply, as some opted to head for home early. The rain finally gave us a break just before lunch. At the conclusion of the trail on Saturday, we returned to the departure point for dinner and the completion of the event.

All in all, this was my favorite event of the year. The small town, welcoming atmosphere was absolutely awesome to experience. We made some great memories, talked to some friends (both old and new), and enjoyed the experience overall.

I’m already looking forward to next year! - Chris

23rd Moab

23rd Moab Jeep Jamboree USA - 2021

Moab Jeep Jamboree was a blast, of course! We made it in time to catch the last part of vehicle check in on Thursday and we were able to check out a couple of the rigs getting checked in as well.  Once we got all signed in, we headed off to dinner.

Friday morning brought us some awesome weather, blue skies with some clouds here and there.  We signed up for 7 Mile Rim that day and had a decent size group.  20 Jeeps on the trail, which, made for a good time.  7 Mile Rim starts off a little slow with dirt roads taking you back into the back country then, it quickly turns to slickrock and awesome red sand.  Our first stop for our pee break was a very well known arch called Uranium Arch.  As the day went on, we passed many other cool areas along the trail.  As we stopped for lunch we had incredible sights on both sides of us, Monitor and Merrimac Buttes.  Such a cool sight to see.  I was able to hand out a hat to each driver and passenger and was able to talk to each one, always fun to find those die hard JJUSA goers! Once we got on through the trail, we had a 30 mile journey back into Moab, we had time to spare so we got some drinks and ran on over to Spanish Trail Arena for our dinner and a show.  Was able to make the rounds and talk to a lot of people, just about all of them actually.  What I found works great is you take the swag bags and hats and make the rounds, table to table.  People are always receptive for free goodies.  I like to get most the hats out on the first day so that we see them all over the trails the next!  As we decided to leave for the night, Shawn with JJUSA and Barb the main gal that put on Moab JJUSA, asked if we could assist on helping find the Poison Spider group that as of 8:30 pm no one has heard from.  Way past due!!  So we loaded up and headed out as quick as we could.  About a ¼ of the way up we ran into the group.  21 Jeeps with 2 broken down.  We quickly let Shawn and Barb know that that are all accounted for and that we are working on getting them all fixed up, while their dinner was waiting for them.  We got them all down and they were all very appreciative.  Always fun to help other jeep friends!

Saturday brought us cloudy but, still decently warm weather.  We hit the Hells Revenge trail which is always a good time.  Had about 22 rigs on the trail with us and of course another great bunch of Jeep Peeps!  Half way in we stopped at the big overlook right near Hells Gate which they did not let any participants drop down into, so I took the honor of giving the group a little show.  They allowed me to drop in and climb out of Hells Gate, which is always a little nerving but, I know they loved it.  Saturday night we were able to hang and mingle with some new faces, and of course hand out more hats and swag bags.  Saturday dinners are always a sad one, being it is the end of the event.  You spend the weekend making friends then leaving them.  The nice thing is we always end up seeing friends we met at the other past Jamborees😊

Such a good turn out as always! - AJ

6th Table Mesa 2021

Table Mesa Jeep Jamboree USA - 2021

This weekend we headed out to Table Mesa which is just north of Anthem in Arizona for the 6th Table Mesa Jeep Jamboree USA. In total, there were 146 vehicles signed up along with passengers. The other sponsors that joined us were Spot, Amsoil, Rusty’s Off-Road, General Tire, and Midland. This event was very fun and definitely different from others that I’ve been on. The trails themselves were not super difficult, but they do have a lot of fun, scenic places to explore.

We got in late afternoon on the first day and made it down to the Bumble Bee Ranch for vehicle check-in and picked up our name tags. Then we were able to visit with the guys with Jamboree as well as a lot of the Trail Guides.

The next day we lined up at 7 am to hit the Hieroglyphic Loop Trail with Christian and Rod acting as our trail guides for the trip. We started off with a driver's meeting, then hit the road. When we hit the dirt, we took a quick minute to air down and then got on the trail. The crew from Midland radios hit the trail with us as well, it was good to meet and chat with them about their products and this great event. Returning to the Bumble Bee Ranch in time to shake the dust off and join everyone for dinner at 5:30. It was great to be able to meet and talk with the other participants in a relaxed setting. Many of the participants were families on a vacation, out doing what they love with who they love.

Friday was another awesome day. We were set to hit Black Canyon with another great set of Trail guides. We lined up again at 7 am, had our drivers meeting at 8, and then rolled out for the trail. As far as trails go, Black Canyon had it all, from water crossings to rock gardens, this trail was fun. We were in very steep scenic country, though there was nothing super technical. Like many trails in the American southwest, this one had some history nestled inside of it. Along the trail, there was a rock formation fort that the Native Americans used as a hideout and as a way to stay above the enemy. It was built on top of 15 -20 feet high rock cliffs and was surrounded by rocks. They would hideout on top and during battle, they would light the lower part on fire to either burn or deter the enemy. It was really cool to see from the vantage point that they had back then; very cool to see and learn about. This ended up being my favorite trail of the two because it was so scenic. The trail was over too soon and we had to work our way back to get cleaned up for the last supper at Bumble Bee Ranch and they made it a good one... Steak and Potatoes… we loved it. Couldn't have asked for a better way to end the event.

This was probably one of the most chill Jamborees I’ve been to and we had amazing weather for both days. We also met lots of great people and said good-bye to a good friend, Jim Horne. This was his last Jamboree.  Definitely sad to see him go.

Such a fun trip. Nothing better than this industry and the people you meet and friends you make!

33rd Palo Duro 2021

33rd Palo Duro Jeep Jamboree USA - 2021

Where do I even begin! This was such a fun event! First day, we rolled into the vehicle check in and everyone came running over to greet us, including Seth, who said “you’re in our group the yellow group, lets go get you signed up”. Everyone in Texas was beyond nice and was always making sure we had what we needed.  As we got signed up we got a chance to get aquianted with Joe, Seth and Joe are the guides and both were super informative.  After we finsihed the check in process we went out to grab some dinner and hit the hay!

Friday morning we got up and journeyed out to the Figure 3 Ranch for breakfast and to line up in our groups.  The Figure 3 Ranch is a 17,000 acre privately owned ranch that is only used twice a year for Jeep events, other than that there are no other vehicles allowed to wheel on the property.  The event kicked off with a group trail meeting before we were sent on our way.  The crazy thing about Texas is that is extremely flat, however, the descent into this canyon was about 1,500 feet down and was so steep to the point that in some parts we slid for a good 10-15 feet.  Always fun!  The trail for the day was called Table Top and it was a fun adventure.  The wheeling was not at a high difficulty level but, there were quite a few areas to really test and make sure your bump stops were set up properly.  We had about 27 rigs on the trail with us that day, which in itself was a treat trying to get everyone through while staying together.  Our trail time ended right around dinner time.  We found a good spot to park and handed out hats and goodie bags to all and of course, we were able to answer any questions needed.

Saturday we met back out at the Figure 3 Ranch for breakfast and to line our rigs back up again!  After the drivers meeting, we made the descent back down into the Palo Duro Canyon.  The trail of the day was I believe (Broken Arrow). This trail was very fun and scenic, with some pretty challenging climbs.  We had one guy brake a rear drive line, so we had to tow him the rest of the way out but thankfully,  we were all able to finish the trail. Seth, Joe, Scott, and Brian made these trails incredibley fun, they even added in a great deal of Texas history!  If you have never been, Palo Duro is a incredible place to jeep and visit.  After we got up out of the canyon, our dinner was waiting for us.  We indulged in big ole juicy Texas steaks.  We ended our final evening chatting with potential customers and new friends, enjoying the comradery.  Packing up and saying our goodbye’s were especially hard this time. Though we had only  known them for 3 days, we felt like we had known these folks for years.

One for the books, for sure! Palo Duro, you will be missed! - AJ

29th Big Bear

29th Big Bear Jeep Jamboree USA - 2021

For starters, I was called on a Tuesday evening the day before I would have needed to leave and was asked if I could go to this event.  Excited and scared to tell my kids that I was leaving them again for the second week in a row, I obviously said I’m on it.  So I loaded up again and got on the road. I left at 8 am Thursday and pretty much drove straight through the night,  only stopping to hit the restroom in order to make it there for the Thursday evening vehicle check in.  We ended up getting there with time to spare!  As I arrived to the hote, I was greeted with “where’s your mask?’’, making me think to myself, “oh great this is going to be a nightmare…"  It actually turned out to be very laid back and I was releived masks where not a huge issue.

One of the first pictures I was able to get of my Gladiator was at the vehicle check in, located at the Big Bear Lake Elks Lodge.  Extremely cool meeting a lot of the locals, some had been in the area for years.  I was assigned to the Red group for the duration of the event and after getting all checked in, it was time for some grub! Found a cool little Mexican restaurant on the main street called El Jacacito Grill.  It was freakin' amazing!  With a belly full of mexican food, I cruzed the strip by foot, meeting fellow jeepers and having some great conversations about Jeeps and the trails that we would encounter tomorrow. Beat from the long drive, I headed back to the hotel to catch up on some much needed rest.

As you can imagine, morning crept up fast and I made my way back to the lodge for some breakfast and the drivers meeting.  This Jamboree was set up a little different then the two I had already attended. The drivers meeting was large and all inclusive, to which they introduced the sponsors of the event and the Trail Guides.  It's always an amazing feeling representing such a well known company in the industry. Several folks came up to greet me and I received several compliments and comments about how well we keep our inventory stocked and how amazing our customer service has always been. Great job gals!  As we got into the jeeps to head out, Rich our trail guide got on the radio and informed us on what to expect on today run.  The Red group was the more advanced group so we had two days full of some pretty challenging trails and obstacles.  We did two trails Thursday, starting with “Gold Mountain Trail and ending with “John Bull Trail”.   Hit dirt at about 9 am and didn’t get on pavement till about 4:45 pm. Pretty exhausting day for sure.  Gold Mountain and John Bull Trail are both known for their massive boulders and rock sections.  They say that if you have never done either of them, it would be best to call ahead to the Big Bear Discovery Center or the Big Bear Jeep Experience and they will give you the most up to date info on the trails.  After our long day of aventuring, we headed back to the Lodge for dinner.  I was able to hang out with the guys from JJUSA. They gave me a cool spot on stage were I was able to hand out most of the SWAG bags and hats that I had brought. This did leave me with onle a handful to give out the next evening. I try to get the swag and hats out the first day, that way folks can wear their gear the next day and it's always fun to see Northridge gear in the crowd.

Saturday morning we lined up and headed out to a long single trail known as Holcomb Creek. This trail was again, made up of some boulders and river crossings.  The trail also had three very well know boulder sections that took an hour to 2 hours, per obstacle, to get the group through.  It was very scenic and definitely made for some great photos.  Holcomb Creek trail actually paralleled the nationally known Pacific Crest Trail, a hiking trail that ranges from Mexico all the way up to Canada. Crazy! A hiking trail that is 2,653 miles long with the highest elevation being 13,153 Feet. I grew up in California and had no idea that there was such a long trail system!  We actually saw a couple hikers and I'm not going to lie, they looked like they had been out for months.  I was able to exeresize the winch a few times on the trail, pulling a few of my group members out of some difficult obstacles. We ended the evening with dinner at the lodge and a raffle!  This group was a ton of fun and as always, it's hard to leave when you make so many great new friends.  It amazes me just how fast you can build a friendship with fellow jeepers by only spending two days on the trail together.

These jamborees are always such a great time and experience. Thanks again JJUSA for allowing us to be involved!

Top of the Ozarks

14th Top of the Ozarks Jeep Jamboree USA - 2021

The event was located in the Ozark mountains on SMORR (Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch) property, which is a little over 940 acres of trails. The park also features camping, cabins, shower house, restrooms, a kitchen, and a small general store for your souvenirs.

I’d guess about 300 people, including guides, staff at the ranch, vendors, and guests.

I honestly didn’t have a favorite, it was a whirlwind three day event, and was a great time talking with customers and getting out on the trails. The rain definitely made it a little more interesting as a whole with the mud. The evenings were met with getting back to the campgrounds/vendor areas and talking with attendees. Their were several husband/wife duo’s that each had their own Jeep. That always makes me smile.

Overall, this event was a blast. The prep and courteousness of the staff at the park made the event seem to flow flawlessly. The lay out worked well, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. This was my first JJUSA, but will definitely not be my last. I enjoyed spending time on the trails with our customers, both present and future, and getting to know them a little over the three day event.

The wheeling was good, with some of the climbs out of the stream bed at the bottom being a little challenging. The trails quickly went from mud, to rock, to water, and then a combo of the three, to keep you on your toes. The trails offered a great mix for all skill and comfort levels.

I look forward to being at the event again next year to share in the making of more memories with new friends and members of the Jeep family. - Chris

6th Tillamook

6th Tillamook Jeep Jamboree USA - 2021

For the 6th Tillamook Jeep Jamboree USA event, we sent Malo from the Washington shop and his buddy Joe to represent at the only jamboree held in the Pacific Northwest. The sights were incredible, trails were fun, and the people were fantastic.

Day one the team decided to divide and conquer so they could have the opportunity to talk with more people. Malo went on the Cedar Tree trail run while Joe went on Hoodraiser. This was a very wet day as the typical Oregon rain was in full effect but that didn’t dampen our team’s spirits.

Being an official Jeep Badge of Honor trail, the Cedar Tree run was a popular choice. This trail presented the group with tight turns and lots of stumps and trees to navigate around. If not careful, you could lose a mirror or bang your hard top on some of the trees. Thankfully, at the end of the day, the only damage was lots of fresh pinstripes and one punctured tire. In the middle of the trail is a huge fallen cedar tree. (So that’s why this trail is called Cedar Tree!) If your vehicle is small enough, you can drive under it and get a pretty killer photo. Only one vehicle (Cherokee) in this group could make it but the trail guide helped everyone get a pretty cool shot with their hoods under the tree.

While Malo was playing with the trees, Joe was asked to be mid-gunner on Hoodraiser which he was happy to do. During the driver’s meeting, Joe noticed a fire that was left unattended and took the opportunity to speak about the principles of Tread Lightly and got out water and shovel to extinguish the fire, showing some of the participants how. He also helped a number of Jeeps air down and show them how to use their tool, or suggested the ARB deflator he let them use. On the trail, he was able to get out during different obstacles on the run and act as spotter for a number of participants. The rain created a good amount of mud that made everything just a little bit more challenging but everyone managed to get through with minimal help. Again, lots of smiles on this trail too.

Day two the weather cleared up so Malo and Joe decided to team up to take on Sand Lake together. Armed with their flags, sunblock, and beach permits, they were ready to cut cookies in the sand. The trail guide lead the group out towards the beach and lined them up to take advantage of the beautiful view. The next photo op was to crawl up a large piece of drift wood. The trail guide spotted everyone who wanted to get the shot while everyone else got to play in the sand. (Watch out for the ATVs!) After quick the photo sesh, the group headed up to the dunes and tackled the sand bowl. Everyone got a chance to go up and down the tall sandy hills. Only a couple struggled but everyone made it. While making our way through the dunes, Joe noticed one of the attendee’s Jeep had something loose underneath. He flagged them down and sure enough, a shock bolt was missing. Jumping right into action, Joe was underneath the Jeep with a solid temporary solution. Armed with some zip ties, an wrench extension bar, and some duct tape, Joe was able to secure the shock and allow the participant to drive back to town to get the needed bolt for a proper fix. They even joined back up with the group a little bit later after the repair was done. After the fun on the beach, the group headed up the mountain to enjoy a long logging road drive capped off with an epic photo at the top.

All in all, this event was an absolute blast and was very well done. The JJUSA staff and volunteers were top notch. We simply cannot speak highly enough about them. They catered to every one of their participants and made sure everyone had a great time.

We’re definitely looking forward to this event next year!

18th Texas Spur 2022

18th Texas Spur Jamboree USA - 2022

What a fun trip this was. I hit the road on Monday starting my longest drive yet to an event, 23 and a half hours to the destination. 3 hours into the journey I hit Moab Utah and of course had to stop, unload and take a couple of pictures and videos of that incredible place. After that and getting a bite to eat I headed out. With a Goal of hitting Farmington, NM that night, I continued on. Tuesday morning I hit the road early, with a fever lol. Making it to Big Spring, Texas at about 9:30 that night I was ready to hit the hay. Wednesday morning I continued on accompanied by a really awesome headwind. Slowed us down a bit but we still got there late afternoon, still enough time for a couple of good pictures down by the riverfront. By the way, Llano Texas’s Taco bell is amazing! Thursday hits and you can start to see the increase of Jeepers cruising around town. Always a fun sight to see. Check-in is always a blast as well. I headed down to check in a bit early, set up the jeep out front, and helped Jeff and Griff with Jamboree set up their trailer. Hanging with the guys there and talking with all the Jeepers is always a blast. Once we got through and decided what color we would be running with we went out to eat and headed to the hotel to turn in for the night.

Day 1 and Day 2 line up, jeeps all over the place. As Jeeps started up to leave and head out to Inks Ranch. Inks Ranch is widely known for its guided hunting trips, jeep Jamborees, and Climbing festivals. Such incredible country and terrain.  The rock here in Texas is like 20 grit sandpaper, incredibly course. A ton of the local guys here say that if you wheel a lot here you will only get a year out of your tires. Pretty crazy terrain. There are about 11 different named trails here at Inks Ranch that we ran. Each group runs each trail just in a different order throughout both days.

-Roy’s Revenge

-The Vineyard

-Hunters Hill

-Homestead

-Moab

-Waterfall Creek

-Watch Mountain

-Balancing Rock

-Petey Q

-Indian Grinds

-No Killer Duck

The Trails above are what was run are unreal. From big granite slabs to balancing rocks and big random ponds in the middle of all of this. Just incredible. Definitely one to hit for sure. Just like Palo Duro, Texas, this Jamboree was full of extremely nice and helpful people. The Dinners both nights were fantastic. I love the dinners because that’s when I get to walk around and meet and talk with a lot of the Jeepers. Handing out swag bags and hats, they can't get enough of that. Always great to hear a lot of them saying that they buy from us already. As well as some done have a clue who we are. That is quickly turned around. Always good giving these Jeepers a face to Northridge4x4.

After our last big dinner and raffle, I was able to sit out as everyone walked out and was able to say our goodbyes. It's amazing how quickly those places can clear out. I was able to help the guys with Jamboree clean up and pack up before I headed out. I turned in early that night because I wanted to leave before the storm hit early that next day. I’m glad I did because that next day is when a bunch of tornadoes touched down in Texas and I heard there were a bunch of hail storms as well. Just glad I was not caught in that. I got home mid-day Monday and got back to work Tuesday. Another awesome trip in the books!

18th Tennessee Mountains 2022

Upon arriving at Windrock Park, we were blown away by how big it is. The park offers more than 73,000 acres and has trails for everyone. We talked with JJUSA officials and got our vendor passes, and set up our spot to hand out swag bags. This JJUSA event had about 125 registered Jeeps, not including sponsors or trail guides. Throw those in and there were about 160 Jeeps just in the JJUSA group. The park is public, so was still open to anyone else that wanted to be there.

Day two on the trails started out a little wet, to say the least. It rained, sometimes pretty heavy, off and on all day. The clay turns into a nasty cement-like mud that sticks to everything. The trails were definitely a little interesting with all the extra water/mud. We ran with the green group on day one and had about 20 rigs in the group. Kevin Hedzik led the group through Trail 26 (which is a Jeep badge of honor trail) and Trail 27, Trail 5, and Trail 6. We returned to camp after the trails, in hopes of dodging the rainfall for dinner. That was not the case, and the rain continued into the night.

Day three started with cloudy skies but only led to a few sprinkles. Of course, the trails were still nice and wet from the previous rain. We ran with the Tiger group and had about 20 rigs on the trails again. We were led by Tish York and ran Trail 51, Panther Rock (another Jeep badge of honor trail) Trail 11, Trail 30, Trail 29, and Trail 33. Wet conditions made for some winching, slipping, and sliding, to say the least. Panther Rock provides a nice overlook out across the TN mountains.

After completing the trails, we headed back to camp. We said our goodbyes and headed for home. This was another great event put on by JJUSA and one that I am looking forward to attending again.

7th Tillamook

7th Tillamook Jeep Jamboree USA - 2022

For the 7th Tillamook Jeep Jamboree USA event, Malo and Joe repped team Northridge4x4 again hoping to repeat the great times they had the previous year. Needless to say, expectations were high for this year’s event. Unsurprisingly, Tillamook didn’t disappoint as the sights were still incredible, the trails were even more fun, and the people were nothing short of stellar.

Taking what they learned last year, the guys stuck together and tackled the Archer’s Fire Break 5 trail on day one with Joe’s 4-door JK. It was another rainy and windy day but that didn’t slow anyone down. All it did was made the trails more challenging and way more fun. To their surprise, the Northridge4x4 2021 Jeep Gladiator Giveaway winner Wayne and his wife Nicole just happened to be on the same trail. Obviously, the team followed closely with Wayne to see the giveaway Gladiator in action.

The rain made every bit of the trail sloppy and muddy but that didn’t slow the pace of the group one bit. That is until the group came up to the Waterfall obstacle. Waterfall is a large rock shelf that’s over 10ft tall. The “chosen” way up it is to drive up the right side and use a perfect blend of technical driving and a bit of oomph. Our trail guide Paul showed us how to do it in his CJ but only a couple of others tried the same. Two brave souls attempted the feat and one, driving a 4-door JK, snapped a driver-side U joint. Quickly, the trail guides sprung into action to assist in the most complete trail repair I’ve ever seen. Everyone helped by lending tools and parts as needed to make sure the JK was back in working order as soon as possible. After a short delay, the group was back on the move working their way to the next challenge, Rocky Uphill.

Just as its name implies, this “obstacle” is a long rocky uphill climb. The wind and rain were very strong during this portion of the trail making everything extra slick for everyone. Joe and Malo zipped around the back side of the trail and worked their way to the top of Rocky Uphill to get photos of the group as they completed this challenge. “Mother Nature doesn’t want us up here,” Malo said while trying to find the perfect spot to grab photos. Although the wind was hollering and the rain was dumping, the group made it up without any issues.

On day two the weather cooperated a little better which was perfect since the guys were headed back to Sand Lake. Last year they had a blast in Malo’s 2018 JL but they wanted to see what they can do in Malo’s 2021 Gladiator. Remembering the guys from last year, trail guide Jon was happy to see the team back for more. The blue skies were doing their best to fight off the clouds but the views were stunning nevertheless. The first obstacle was a washed-out part of the beach that offered a couple of dips and small crawling opportunities. This was a great introduction to what wheeling in the sand is like. One of the drivers got high-centered and gave the group the perfect opportunity to use some recovery gear. A tow strap and a quick tug proved to be easy work to get the stuck JK off the bump.

After a group photo and cutting a few cookies on the beach, the trail guide lead the group out towards the dunes for some speed and hill climbs. They spent a good amount of time here playing in the san. Mostly because Malo couldn’t quite make it to the top of the hill. After successfully making the climb, Joe noticed that the Gladiator wasn’t in 4-wheel drive. Apparently, it was knocked out of gear by a rogue knee while hitting a few whoops too hard. Fun fact, did you know driving up sand dunes is way easier in 4-wheel drive? ;) After the dunes, the group made the long logging road trip for another epic photo. Then it was air up and head back to town.

This year seemed to be even more fun than last year and the team can’t stress enough what a great job the trail guides do. They 100% put the attendees first and make sure that everyone has the time of their lives. If you’re looking for a trip that has a little bit of everything, Tillamook is a must-have on your off-road bucket list.
